My aim is to make learning to play the piano enjoyable, because only through enjoyment will the learner fully and happily engage with what he or she is doing.
I want to help my fellow learners (I consider myself to be a lifelong learner) achieve their own personal musical goals and to take pride in their success along the way, playing the kind of music they want to play, and exploring the huge variety of music available to the aspiring pianist.
I aim to encourage, inspire and to facilitate deep musical learning at a pace suited to the learner, whatever their level. I will not rush anyone, nor ‘teach to the test’, although if working towards taking formal music examinations is one of your goals, I will help you prepare for these, too. My concern is for the whole person; their satisfaction with their progress, their individual learning challenges and their physical health and posture as they sit at the piano.
